LG’s 2019 TV lineup adds HDMI 2.1, 8K and voice assistants

If you wanted a new TV to go with LG’s recently announced soundbar lineup, then the company has got you covered.

LG’s 2019 TV range will be powered by the company’s second α (Alpha) 9 Gen 2 intelligent processor along with a deep learning algorithm.

The top of the line models will use AI to offer higher picture and sound quality. You also get support for both Amazon Alexa and built-in Google Assistant which can be used to navigate the TV’s Home Dashboard.

LG’s 88-inch Z9 OLED TV has 8K resolution while their W9, E9 and C9 OLED TVs have 4K resolution, HDR, Dolby Vision and more.

LG says their 2019 TVs with ThinQ AI will come with conversational voice recognition that makes it easier to get the right answers and is supported in more than 140 countries.

The α2 Gen 2 processor will also be powering LG’s 75-inch 8K LCD TV (model SM99) and the rest of their premium LCD TVs for 2019 along with their NanoCell technology which will help with enhanced picture quality and colour accuracy.

As for ports, all the 2019 OLED and NanoCell LCD TVs will come with HDMI 2.1 and eARC (enhanced audio return channel).

No pricing or availability has been announced but more details should be announced at CES.
