Huawei has unveiled their latest phones, the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro.
Both devices are powered by the Kirin 980 processor and are running Android 9 Pie with Huawei’s EMUI 9 on top. The Mate 20 has a 6.53-inch 1080p LCD display (with an 18.7:9 aspect ratio) while the Mate 20 Pro has a 6.39-inch 1440p OLED display (with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio).
For storage, the Mate 20 comes 128GB of internal storage plus a nano-memory card slot (Huawei’s new priority memory card) and either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. The Mate 20 Pro comes with 128GB or 256GB of internal storage plus a nano-memory card slot and either 6GB or 8GB of RAM.
The Mate 20 comes with a 4,000 mAh battery and is IP53 water and dust resistant and the Mate 20 Pro has a 4,200 mAh battery and is IP68 water and dust resistant. While the Mate 20 has a rear-facing fingerprint sensor, the Mate 20 Pro has an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The Mate 20 Pro also supports 15W Huawei Wireless Quick Charge, 40W Huawei SuperCharge and Wireless Reverse Charge which can be used to wirelessly charge other devices.
In terms of cameras, the Mate 20 has a 12-megapixel wide angle lens, a 16-megapixel ultra wide angle lens and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens. The front-facing camera on the Mate 20 is 24-megapixels. The Mate 20 Pro has a 40-megapixel wide angle lens, a 20-megapixel ultra wide angle lens and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens.
Huawei Canada has confirmed that the Mate 20 Pro will launch in Canada but no release date has been announced.
