Google has announced a new feature for Google Maps that is made for EV (electric vehicle) owners.

Now in Google Maps if you search “ev charging” or “EV charging stations”, you’ll see your closest charging stations. Globally, Google Maps will show you Tesla and Chargepoint charging stations.

While in the US, you’ll see SemaConnect, EVgo and Blink charging stations. If you’re in the UK, you’ll see Chargemaster and Pod Point and Australians will see Chargefox charging stations.

Google Maps will also show you if a business has an electric charging station available including info about where it’s located, the type of ports available, charging speeds and how many ports are available.

In addition, you’ll info about the charging station from drivers including photos, ratings, reviews and questions.

Google says the ability to search for electric vehicle charging stations is rolling out now today for their Google Maps app on Android and iOS with the desktop in the coming weeks.

To get started, all you need is the latest Google Maps app update from the Play Store or App Store.
