Microsoft has taken the wraps off a slew of Surface devices including the Surface Pro 6, Surface Laptop 2, Surface Studio 2 and Surface Headphones.
Surface Pro 6
Microsoft says the Surface Pro 6 is 67% faster than the 5th Gen Surface Pro from last year and weighs 1.7 pounds. The Surface Pro 6 is powered by the 8th Gen Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, up to 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD and features a PixelSense Touch Display.
It also has a Windows Hello camera, all-day battery life (up to 13.5 hours) and comes in multiple colours, black and grey. The rear-facing camera is 8-megapixels and the front is 5-megapixels.
As for powers, it comes with a full-size USB 3.0 port, microSD card slot, Mini DisplayPort, 3.5mm headphone jack and Surface Connect. The hinge on the Surface Pro 6 has 165-degrees of flexibility.
The Surface Pro 6 will release on October 16th with pre-orders available now.
Pricing for the Surface Pro 6 is as follows:

One thing to note is that the Black colour option for the Surface Pro 6 is available with up to a Intel Core i7, 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD.
Surface Laptop 2
The Surface Laptop 2 shares the same design as the previous version while weighing at 2.76 pounds. The screen is a 13.5-inch PixelSense touch display.
It’s powered by the 8th Gen Intel Core i5 or i7 processor with up to a 1TB SSD. The camera on the Surface Laptop 2 supports Windows Hello sign-in. For ports, there’s a full-size USB 3.0, Mini DisplayPort, headphone jack andSurface Connect.
You can expect up to 14.5 hours of battery life on the Surface Laptop 2 depending on usage. The interior of the Surface Laptop 2 is still made from Alacantra and comes in multiple colours, Black, Platinum (Grey), Burgundy and Cobalt Blue.

The Surface Laptop 2 will release on October 16th alongside the Surface Pro 6. The Surface Laptop 2 is availabel for pre-order now.
Surface Studio 2
Microsoft also announced the Surface Studio 2, it features a 28-inch PixelSense touch display and the same hinge design as the original.
It’s powered by the 7th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with either 16 or 32GB of RAM and up to a 2TB SSD. It can be optioned with the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or 1070 GPU.
The Surface Studio 2 comes with a Windows Hello camera that’s 5-megapixels. As for ports, the Surface Studio 2 has four full-size USB 3.0 ports, one USB-C, full-size SD card, 3.5mm audio jack and Ethernet.
Pricing for the Surface Studio 2 is as follows:
- Intel Core i7 / 1TB / 16GB RAM – $4,599 CAD
- Intel Core i7 / 1TB / 32GB RAM – $5,549 CAD
- Intel Core i7 / 2TB / 32GB RAM – $6,349 CAD
The Surface Studio 2 is available for pre-order now and will ship on November 15th.
Microsoft also announced something called Surface Headphones, which is the company’s first premium headphones.
The Surface Headphones has two beam-forming microphones that can be used for Skype calls and you can get up to 15 hours of battery life. The headphones also have Cortana built-in, so you can play your favourite song, set a reminder, make a call and more.
There’s also Active Noise Cancellation and it fully charges within two hours via USB-C. The Surface Headphones works with Windows 10, MacOS, Android and iOS devices.
The Surface Headphones will release in the US and UK later this year for $350 USD.
Windows 10 October 2018 Update
The company also announced that the Windows 10 October 2018 Update is rolling out now.
The new update comes with a number of features including the Your Phone app which gives you access to your Android phone’s photos and texts on your Windows 10 PC.
The Your Phone app is compatible with Android phones running 7.0 and later.
With the April 2018 update for Windows 10, Microsoft introduced Timeline but with the October 2018 update, your PC’s timeline is available on your phone.
The Timeline feature for your phone is available as a preview on Android via the Microsoft Launcher and coming soon to iPhone.
