Amazon has announced the all-new Fire TV Stick 4K as well as an official release date for their Fire TV Edition smart TVs.

Fire TV Stick 4K

Previously when Amazon introduced the Fire TV Stick to Canada, they didn’t bring the Alexa Voice Remote. But now that’s not the case, the Fire TV Stick 4K has a 1.7Ghz quad-core processor, improved Wi-Fi and the ability to watch 4K content.

The Alexa Voice Remote can not only control your Fire TV Stick but it can also control your TV, sound bar with the addition of power, volume and mute buttons. You can also use Alexa to find and watch your favourite content and control your smart home products.

The Fire TV Stick 4K is compatible with Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG and HDR10+ plus Dolby Atmos sound. Amazon will be offering an Ethernet adapter for the Fire TV Stick 4K at a later date.

The Fire TV Stick 4K launches on October 31st for $69.99 CAD. It’s available for pre-order now.

Amazon will be selling the new Alexa Voice Remote separately for $39.99 CAD, which can also be used with the Fire TV Stick Basic Edition.

The Fire TV Edition TVs are similar to smart TVs running Roku but now you have Amazon’s Fire TV interface loaded onto it.
