Twenty years ago today (September 27th, 1998) is when Google was first started and would being to change the internet forever.
The company released this doodle to celebrate the 20th birthday of Google.
Twenty (ish) years ago, two Stanford Ph.D. students launched a new search engine with a bold mission to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. Though much has changed in the intervening years—including now offering Search in more than 150 languages and over 190 countries—Google is still dedicated to building products for everyone. Today’s video Doodle takes a stroll down memory lane by exploring popular searches all over the world throughout the last two decades.
And to get an inside look into the early days of Google, the company released this video of the Google Garage where the company was started.
The company also released a blog post highlighting some of their accomplishments over the past 20 years. Since starting in 1998, Google has become one of the most valuable and popular companies in the world.
Google also made a site that shows you some of the popular searches over the year.
Happy 20th Birthday to Google and here’s to many more years.
