HTC adds Oculus Rift support to Viveport

HTC is going to be adding Oculus Rift support to their Viveport store and Viveport subscription.

Starting on September 4th, all Viveport published titles and Viveport subscriptions will be available to Oculus Rift owners.

HTC’s Viveport subscription gets you five titles at a time from more than 500 titles which have been curated to provide a range of experiences. Some titles part of the subscription includes, Seeking DawnTilt BrushPixel Ripped 1989Shooty FruityA-Tech Cybernetic VRtheBlu and Knockout League.

“By adding support for Oculus Rift, we’re doubling the potential user base for Viveport developers,” said Rikard Steiber, President of Viveport. “Viveport continues to offer the most opportunities for developers to monetize their VR content. From Viveport and Viveport Subscription, to availability on Amazon and in Viveport Arcade, we’re going to continue to expand and reach the largest global audience possible on developers’ behalf.”

Developers can start opting in on Viveport to enable Oculus Rift today via the developer console, in time for the consumer launch on September. Oculus Rift will also now be listed under ‘Compatible Headsets’.

HTC offers a 14-day free trial for their Viveport subscription. After that, it costs $11.99 CAD per month or you can get 3 months for $29.00 CAD, 6 months for $56.00 CAD and 12 months for $109.00 CAD.
