Mercedes has announced their latest compact car with the A-Class Sedan.
The A-Class Sedan comes in at a 2,729-millimetre wheelbase. The sedan shares similar features to its hatchback counterpart including a modern, efficient engine, high level of safety and adaptive MBUX infotainment system.
“Things at Mercedes-Benz are happening quickly with regard to the new family of compacts. In response to the wishes of many customers, for the first time we are now offering the A-Class as a sedan,” says Britta Seeger, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, responsible for Mercedes-Benz Cars Marketing and Sales. “Anyone looking for a compact, sporty sedan now has a new attractive option. It will enable us to win new customers for Mercedes-Benz.”
The A-Class Sedan comes with two engine options, the A 220 and the A 220 4Matic both with 188hp and 221 lb-ft and a 7G-DCT dual-clutch transmission.
The vehicle comes with a panoramic sunroof, MBUX infotainment system with touchscreen and the latest driving assistance systems like Active Brake Assist. You can also option Sport and Night packages on the A-Class Sedan.
It also comes with keyless entry and an option for hands-free access that will allow you to open the trunk using a motion sensor under the rear bumper.
The MBUX infotainment system will adapt and learn thanks to artificial intelligence. It’ll also come with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with augmented reality technology to overlay navigation directions over a camera feed showing the world around you. You can also use voice control with natural speech recognition.
The Mercedes A-Class Sedan will be available in Canada later this along with the A-Class Hatchback.
Mercedes hasn’t announced Canadian pricing for the A-Class Sedan.
