Google has announced that YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium have launched in Canada and 11 other countries.
YouTube Premium (formerly known as YouTube Red) was previously only available in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and South Korea.
Now both YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium are available in Canada, Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden and the UK.
YouTube Music Premium has been revamped with easier access to music videos, official albums, singles, remixes, live performances and more. There are also recommendations that are tailored for you and thousands of playlists to choose from.
There is also something called smart search in YouTube Music which allows you to search for songs, even if you don’t remember the actual song title. You’ll also be able to listen ad-free, in the background and offline.
YouTube Premium also launches today which includes ad-free, background video playback and downloads for offline. You’ll also get access to YouTube Originals such as Cobra Kai, Step Up: High Water and Youth & Consequences.
YouTube Music Premium costs $9.99 CAD per month for one user or $14.99 CAD per month for the family plan which includes up to 6 family members in the same household.
YouTube Premium costs $11.99 CAD per month for one person or $17.99 CAD per month for the family membership. Both YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium come with a 3 month free trial for the single user plan or 1 month free trial for the family plans.
