Audi has introduced a new model in their SUV lineup, with the Q8.
The Audi Q8 shares similar stylings to other Audi SUVs on both the exterior and interior. There’s also an octagonal Singleframe grille with large air inlets on the front.
The Q8 is both wider and lower than the Q7 but still has space for up to 5 passengers plus a generous amount of cargo space.
The Q8 comes with the all-new Audi MMI 10.1-inch touch display which is tilted so it blends in with the rest of the cabin. There’s also an 8.6-inch display below to control heating and air conditioning as well as text input.
Behind the steering wheel is the fully digital Audi virtual cockpit which uses a 12.3-inch display to show the driver the speedometer and other vehicle controls.
Audi’s new MMI system uses both haptic and acoustic feedback. When you’re scrolling through menus, you’ll hear an audible click. The Q8 also supports natural language voice commands so you could say things like, “I’m hungry” and the systems will find nearby restaurants.
The vehicle also comes with wireless charging for compatible phones, an option for a Bang & Olufsen 3D Advanced Sound System.
The Q8 is equipped with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive that uses a mechanical centre differential that transfers power to the front and rear axle at a 40:60 ratio. It can also transfer the power to a specific axle for better traction.
The Audi Q8 is set to release in Q4 2018. No pricing has been announced.
