Asus’ Republic of Gamers brand has introduced their first phone for gamers with the ROG Phone.
The Asus ROG Phone has an octa-core Snapdragon 845 processor that is clocked at 2.96GHz along with a gaming-optimized Qualcomm Adreno 630 GPU. It comes with either 128GB or 512GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM.
The ROG Phone has a 6-inch AMOLED HDR display with a 90Hz refresh rate with a 1ms response. The phone comes with an AeroActive Cooler that snaps on and helps to give your device an extra cooling boost while gaming.
The device comes with something called AirTriggers that help give users ultra responsive game controls. The phone has one USB 3.1 Gen 1 port. The AeroActive Cooler adds another USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The ROG Phone comes with dual-rear cameras with one 12-megapixel sensor and on 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor. There’s also a 4,000 mAh battery and has dual front-facing speakers.
Asus will also be offering a TwinView Dock for a dual-screen handheld mode and also a Mobile Desktop Dock for more traditional desktop-style of gaming. There will also be a WiGig Dock that uses 60GHz Wi-Fi for gaming on the big screen as well as Game Controller.
The ROG Phone also comes with Aura RGB lightning, Aura Sync and Asus HyperCharge technology. The phone runs Android Oreo.
Pricing and availability haven’t been announced for the ROG Phone but it’ll be available later this year.
Asus ROG Strix Scar II and Hero II
Asus also announced two new gaming laptops with the ROG Strix Scar II and Hero II.
The ROG Strix Scar II Edition is made for esports and FPS titles. There’s a two-tone brushed finish on the lid and a new keyboard layout with Kevlar-inspired markings as well as a customizable Aura Sync light bar.
The ROG Strix Hero II Edition has a similar design to Strix Scar II but with cyberpunk-inspired markings and designed for MOBAs. Both laptops have 144Hz displays with super-narrow-bezels and a 3ms response time.
No pricing or availability has been announced.
Asus Gaming and Professional Monitors
Asus has announced two new monitors with the CG32 4K console gaming monitor, VG49V gaming monitor and the ProArt PA34V professional monitor.
The CG32UQ monitor has a 31.5-inch display with a 4K UHD resolution as well as Adaptive Synx and HDR10 support. The monitor has three HDMI 2.0 ports, 1 DisplayPort 1.2, 2 USB 3.0 ports
The Asus VG49V monitor has a 49-inch display with a 32:9 aspect ratio and a 1800R curve. It has a resolution of 3840 x 1080 and comes with a DisplayPort 1.2 port, two USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports and two HDMI 2.0 ports.
The Asus ProArt PA34V professional monitor has a 34-inch display with a 21:9 aspect ratio and a 100Hz refresh rate. The monitor has a UWQHD resolution of 3440 x 1440. There is a DisplayPort 1.2 port, two HDMI 2.0 ports, two Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports.
All three monitors will be available later this year but no pricing has been announced.
