Matt Groening’s Disenchantment arrives on August 17th

Netflix and Matt Groening’s new adult animated series, Disenchantment now has a premiere date.

The first 10 episodes of the series will arrive on August 17th.

The show takes place in “the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools.”

Abbi Jacobson will provide the voice of Bean, the hard-drinking young princess, Nat Faxon will voice Bean’s feisty elf companion Elfo and Eric Andre will voice Bean’s personal demon Luci. Jacobson, Faxon and Andre will be joined by the voice talents of John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, and Lucy Montgomery.

Netflix announced the series last summer with a 20-episode order over two seasons.

The animation is being done by Rough Draft Studios, who previously worked with Groening on Futurama. The show is being produced by The ULULU Company for Netflix with Groening and Josh Weinstein (Futurama, The Simpsons) as executive producers.

Awesome. I wonder if it will be good. Futurama was pretty good after Groening left The Simpsons
