It’s time to get Schwifty, as Adult Swim along with show creators, Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland have announced that their animated series, Rick and Morty is getting 70 more episodes, as part of a long-term deal.
Yes, you read that correctly, 70 episodes. Since premiering in 2013, the show has aired 31 episodes across 3 seasons.
Rick and Morty is about “a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe”.
The show is super popular, with it being it being the #1 comedy, according to Neilsen rating last year. The biggest question is when can we expect some of these new episodes.
This new long-term deal will also bring the series to 101 episodes which is one above the number of episodes required for syndication.
Writer for the show, Ryan Ridley said back in January that the next season could arrive as early as late 2019. Season 3 of Rick and Morty recently aired last year and no release date for season 4 has been announced.
You can watch seasons 1 to 3 of Rick and Morty on Adult Swim.
