Marvel’s latest film, Avengers: Infinity War has just hit $1 billion at the global box office and it also becomes the fastest movies to hit a billion, beating out Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Avengers: Infinity War hit $1 billion in just 11 days, compared to 12 days for The Force Awakens. Disney has earned $3 billion at the box office so far.
The international box office gross for Avengers: Infinity War currently sits at $604.8 million and $369.7 million domestically (i.e North America).
The film hit this milestone and it hasn’t even opened in all markets. Avengers: Infinity War is set to open in China on May 11th.
Avengers: Infinity War is the 17th film by Walt Disney Studios to hit $1 billion and the 6th Marvel film to do so. Only 34 films have reached the $1 billion international box office mark.
The film also earned $258 million in North America during its opening weekend. BoxOfficeMojo says that Avengers: Infinity War could put its North American total at $450 million at the end of this weekend (the film’s second weekend).
