BMW has released a small teaser of their upcoming electric SUV concept, the iX3, which is set to be officially announced at Auto China Beijing 2018.
While the teaser doesn’t reveal much, it does gives a small glimpse of what’s to come.
BMW’s iX3 is said to be the company’s answer to the Jaguar i-Pace, Tesla Model X and upcoming Audi E-Tron. The iX3 will be BMW’s first all-electric SUV, up until now they’ve been released the i3 hatchback and i8 coupe, both of which weren’t fully electric.

BMW CEO Harald Krüger, teased this announcement last month when he said this:
Over the course of the year, we will present a number of pure-electric concept vehicles that will all go into series production, like: The first all-electric BMW – the iX3. Our new technology flagship, the BMW iNEXT, the captivating BMW i Vision Dynamics, which I just announced in Geneva as the BMW i4. We will produce both the iNEXT and the BMW i4 in Germany. These models are proof of our innovative strength.
Even though the iX3 concept is set to be announced this week, it won’t be available until 2020.
Auto China 2018 is set to begin on April 25th and run until May 4th.
