Netflix has introduced a new feature they’re calling mobile previews. Essentially, they’re short video trailers that are around 30 seconds in length.
This is similar to the video previews that play on the web and streaming box versions of Netflix but instead, the mobile ones are presented as vertical video so you can watch them without turning your phone.
It’s important to note that these mobile previews are for Netflix Originals and they’re designed to load quickly and are personalized to your specific tastes.
“Years of testing has made it clear that video previews help our members browse less and discover new content more quickly. With the launch of mobile previews, we are bringing a video browse experience to your mobile phone in a fun and mobile-optimized way,” says Cameron Johnson, Director of Product Innovation at Netflix in a blog post.
Mobile previews are launching today in iOS and coming soon to Android.
