Mobvoi, the company behind the TicHome Mini and the TicWatch S & E, is now getting into truly wireless earbuds with the TicPods Free.

The TicPods Free has a design that’s inspired by the Apple AirPods. The earbuds have a side touch panel with gestures. You can swipe up and down to adjust volume, double tap to skip between songs and long press to activate your phone’s voice assistant.

Mobvoi says the TicPods Free can automatically detect when they’re in your ear, so whatever audio you were listening to will automatically play. Removing both earbuds will pause your audio.

You’ll be able to get call audio in both earbuds rather than just one. The TicPods Free also features noise cancellation technology to help get the best call quality. The noise isolating design allows you block out more outside noise when you’re wearing the TicPods Free.

The TicPods Free has a 95 db SPL speaker which can help deliver louder volume without using much power. The earbuds also have an IPX5 rating.

The TicPods Free can get up to 4 hours of battery life and the charging case can get you an additional 18 hours. The case for the TicPods Free gets a full charge within 40 minutes. The case charges over microUSB.

“The past year has been nothing short of amazing, as our products have become a popular entry point for consumers making the switch to smart devices,” explained Zhifei Li, CEO and Co-Founder of Mobvoi. “TicPods Free is an exciting addition to our product line, furthering our commitment to bring anyone and everyone access to affordable, high-quality smart devices.”

The TicPods Free have Bluetooth 4.2 and are compatible with Google Assistant, Siri and Alexa.

The earbuds will be available in three colours, black, white and red. Each TicPods Free will come with two sets of silicone tips.

Mobvoi is launching an Indiegogo campaign for their TicPods Free. The rewards are as follows:
