LG to unveil the G7 ThinQ on May 2nd and details leak out

LG has announced when they will officially reveal their next flagship smartphone, the G7 ThinQ.

LG will be showing off the new device at a media event at the Metropolitan West in New York on May 2nd and the I’PARK Mall in Seoul, South Korea on May 3rd.

Since the new phone has adopted the ThinQ branding, it’ll have the same AI features as the V30S ThinQ that was announced at MWC 2018 including, Vision AI and enhanced voice recognition.

“Now is the time when manufacturers have to pay close attention to what customers actually need and want for their smartphones,” said Hwang Jeong-hwan, president of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “With the LG G7ThinQ, LG is continuing to deliver on its promise to enhance core technologies to meet customers’ real-life needs by incorporating AI technologies that are more than features, they are part of the user experience.”

Just as LG had made this announcement for an announcement, Android Headlines leaked out details about the upcoming device including what it will look like.

As you can see by the image, the LG G7 ThinQ will come in five colours, Aurora Black, Platinum Grey, Moroccan Blue, Moroccan Blue (Matte) and Raspberry Rose.

The device will also have a notched edge-to-edge display with the screen taking up most of the front of the device. The back of the device is where you’ll find the dual-camera setup and fingerprint sensor.

Following in the footsteps of Samsung, the LG G7 ThinQ will have dedicated button to activate LG’s AI assistant and AI technology. There’s also a volume rocker and power button.
