LG Electronics Canada has revealed their premium lineup of TVs for 2018. Their OLED and Super UHD TVs will include the company’s ThinQ AI platform and α (Alpha) processors.
LG’s 2018 lineup includes the W8, E8, C8, and B8 series, all of which have a particular design feature and are OLED. The Signature W8 Series is Picture-on-Wall, meaning there’s little to no gap between the TV and your wall.
You can expect more accurate colours from virtually any viewing angle and perfect black thanks. There’s also Dolby Atmos sound and Dolby Vision and HDR10 support.
The E8 Series is called Picture-on-Glass, the C8 and B8 are what LG is calling Cinema Screen design. The screens range in size from 55-inches to 77-inches. The C8 will start at $3,499 CAD.
LG’s AI-enabled Super UHD TVs are the SK95, Sk90, and SK80 and come in 55 to 75 inches. LG’s Super UHD TVs are LCD displays with deeper blacks and improved shadow details. Full-Array Local Dimming will be available on select models.
The SK90 will start at $1,999 CAD and the SK9500 will start at $3,499 CAD.
LG’s AI functionality in their 2018 TVs will allow users to speak directly into their remote using the latest voice technology. There’s also Natural Language Processing (NLP) to help deliver intelligent voice-activated control using LG’s Deep ThinQ platform.
LG’s ThinQ platform in their TVs can act as smart home hubs and control other smart home products like robotic vacuums, AC units, smart lights, smart speakers etc.
LG’s 2018 TVs will be available later this month.
