Disney has released the first teaser for their upcoming sequel, Mary Poppins Returns.

Mary Poppins Returns takes place in 1930s London, and Jane and Michael Banks are now grown-up. Michael is still living in the Banks’ house on Cherry Tree Lane with his three children, Annabel, John and George and housekeeper, Ellen. After Michael suffers a personal loss, Mary Poppins comes back to the Banks family along with her friend Jack and eccentric cousin, Topsy.

The film stars Emily Blunt in the titular role, along with Lin-Manuel Miranda as her friend Jack, who is an optimistic street lamplighter that brings light and life to the streets of London.

Ben Whishaw plays Michael Banks and Emily Mortimer plays Jane Banks, with Julie Walters playing the Banks’ housekeeper, Ellen. Colin Firth plays William Weatherall Wilkins of the Fidelity Fiduciary Bank and Meryl Streep will play Mary’s eccentric cousin, Topsy.

The film will also introduce three new Banks’ children who are played by Pixie Davies, Nathanael Saleh, and Joel Dawson. Angela Lansbury will appear int he film as the Balloon Lady, a character from the PL Travers books, Dick Van Dyke will play Mr. Dawes Jr., the retired chairman of the Fidelity Fiduciary Bank.

Mary Poppins Returns is directed by Rob Marshall with a screenplay by David Magee and story by Magee, Marshall and John DeLuca. The film is produced by Marshall, DeLuca, Marc Platt and Callum McDougall as executive producer. The music in the film is done by Marc Shaiman with songs written by Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

Disney also released the first teaser poster for Mary Poppins Returns. 

Mary Poppins Returns will release on December 25th, 2018.
