Netflix announces Tuca & Bertie, a new animated series from the team behind Bojack Horseman

Netflix is adding another series to its animation slate with Tuca & Bertie. The series is by the team behind Bojack Horseman.

Tuca & Bertie is a comedy about two 30-year-old bird women who live in the same apartment building, Tuca is a cocky care-free toucan while Bertie is an more anxious daydreaming songbird. Tuca will be voiced by Tiffany Haddish.

Bojack Horseman producer, Lisa Hanawalt created the new series and will also executive produce it along with Bojack Horseman creator, Raphael Bob-Waksberg, Noel Bright, Steven A. Cohen and Tiffany Haddish.

The first season of Tuca & Bertie will consist of 10 episodes. The animation for the show is being down by Shadowmachine, the same company that does the animation for Bojack Horseman. 

Tuca & Bertie joins Netflix’s animation slate which includes, Bojack Horseman, F is for Family, Big Mouth, and Matt Groening’s upcoming series, Disenchanmentwhich is slated to premiere this year.
