Mitipi’s Kevin is the ‘world’s first virtual roommate’

Imagine a device that could thwart off burglars when you’re not home. Well that’s what mitipi is aiming to do with their Kevin device, which they call the “world’s first virtual roommate”.

Basically, the Kevin device can produce random situations using smart logic, to give the illusion that someone is still in your home. Anything from visual effect to acoustic effects and more.

Kevin connects to your other smart devices and factors in time zone, region, language, weather, home type when creating these situations.

Homeowners can even record their own audio clips for Kevin to use, whether it be pots and pans, people talking or music.

The device can be controlled via the buttons on the device or via the companion app.

The Kevin device itself has a 32-bit dual-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 802.11 b/g/n/e/i Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, RGB lights, a 5-watt speaker and can support voltages from 110-240.

The device’s core features all work offline, in the event your Kevin device gets disconnected from the internet.
