DJI has announced the redesigned Osmo Mobile 2 smartphone stabilizer at CES 2018.
The Osmo Mobile 2 uses DJI’s SmoothTrack technology to help you produce the smoothest footage to give it that cinematic look each time. The stabilizer is using the company’s three-axis gimbal technnology which they’ve used previously on their drones.
The device is made from high-strength modified nylon and a foldable design, so it’s easy to take on the go. There is also integrated settings for ISO, shutter speed along with a new zoom slider on the stabilizer’s handle.
You can expect up to 15 hours of battery life with the Osmo Mobile 2 and there’s a USB port, so you can use the stabilizer as a battery bank for your phone.
The DJI GO app has also gained some new features to use alongside the Osmo Mobile 2, such as ActiveTrack which allows you to automatically follow subjects in motion, Motion Timelapse, which uses five different camera positions and finally, Hyperlapse to create a time-lapse video. If you prefer to take photos, you can use the Panorame, Long Exposure or LightTrail modes.
The DJI Osmo Mobile 2 will be available for pre-order for $129 USD, in the US, it’ll be exclusive to Apple.com from January 23rd 2018 until early February. After that, the Osmo Moblie 2 will be available at DJI’s website.
