Nintendo has announced some upcoming games for their Switch console, including a new Mario Tennis game, Donkey Kong, Kirby and more.
Mario Tennis Aces
Mario Tennis Aces not only brings classic tennis gameplay but there will also be a story mode which is a first for the series. It’s the first time they’ve added a story mode since the Mario Tennis game for Game Boy Advanced.
Mario Tennis Aces will release this spring.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
The game features fun and challenging gameplay like the original game. There is also a new beginner-friendly mode. Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, Cranky Kong and Funky Kong are all in the new Switch game.
The game will release on May 4th.
Kirby Star Allies
Kirby Star Allies is Kirby’s first game on the Switch and the new game will feature a new adventured filled with content. Kirby now has a artist ability which unleashes his creativity.
The game launches on March 16th.
Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition
The game is set in the exciting Zelda universe and will include every map and mission and over 29 playable characters from both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions of the game.
There will be new outfits for Link and Zelda from Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The game will release this spring.
The World Ends with You: Final Remix
The Nintendo DS game from 2008 has been updated for the Nintendo Switch, with HD visuals and a new epilogue.
The game will launch later this year.
Dark Souls: Remastered
Nintendo also announced that Dark Souls will be making its way to the Switch, with the new remastered version. It’ll include the Artorias of the Abyss DLC and an improved framerate and resolution.
The game will launch on May 25th.
PayDay 2 will also be making its way to the Switch along with a new playable character called Joy who is a Japanese computer whiz and who wears a custom LED light mask that changes her appearance as she sees fit.
The game will launch on February 27th.
Celeste is a modern take on the action platformer and has you climb Celeste Mountain. The game will launch on January 25th.
The platformer is based in a dark Nordic forest where you’ll explore its living, breathing world. The game launches on February 16th.
Some of the other games announced include SNK Heroines – Tag Team Frenzy and Ys VIII: Lacriumosa of DANA, both of which launch this summer.
As for DLC, Nintendo has announced that Super Mario Odyssey will be getting a new mini-game called Balloon World which will be a free update and complete the main story. The update will be available in February.
Donkey Kong will be heading to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle with an all new storyline. The DLC pack will be available for purchase individually or as part of the Season Pass or Gold Edition of the game. It’ll launch in the spring.
