LG shows off their Google Assistant Smart Display & kitchen ThinQ products

LG has officially revealed their upcoming Smart Display with the LG ThinqQ WK9.

Like other Smart Displays, the one by LG will have the Google Assistant built-in as well as Chromecast built-in.The display will be 8-inches and the speakers have been tuned by Meridian Audio. There;s also a front-facing camera for Google Duo calls.

LG hasn’t given any pricing or availability of their Smart Display but it since Lenovo will be releasing theirs in the summer, expect LG’s to release around that time as well.

In addition to the Smart Display, LG also announced some of their upcoming kitchen appliances with their ThinQ platform.

Some of the products include the LG InstaView ThinQ fridge which has a 29-inch touch LCD display which can be turned into a window with two knocks, so you can see what’s in your fridge.

The fridge also has Alexa built-in, so you can ask her for recipe ideas and how to make them. You’ll also get access to Amazon Music, iHeartRadio and other streaming services. The fridge is powered by LG’s webOS platform and has a Smart Tag feature that help you identify what foods are expiring soon.

In addition to the InstaView fridge, LG also announced the EasyClean oven which with a companion app can access recipes and automatically begin pre-heating to specific temperatures. To help make it easier to clean, the over has an advanced hydrophilic enamel coating.

The LG EasyClean oven can also connect to the new LG QuadWash dishwasher which can set the optimal wash cycle based on what dish is being prepared with the oven. For example, if you’re making a greasy dish, the dishwasher will choose a longer cycle with hotter water.
