After being announced at their October 4th hardware event, Google’s Pixel Buds are now available for purchase in Canada.
The Pixel Buds are meant to be Google’s answer to the Apple AirPods but instead of being truly wireless, the Pixel Buds are attached via a wire like some other Bluetooth earbuds that can be found on Amazon.
In addition to being able to play music over Bluetooth, the Pixel Buds also gives users access to the Google Assistant. You’ll be able to ask the Google Assistant questions like, “what’s the weather?” Or “how tall is the CAN Tower?”
Since the Pixel Buds are powered by the Google Assistant, you can use them for real-time translation via Google Translate. The Pixel Buds get about 5 hours of listening time and multiple charges up to 24 hours via the charging case.
The Pixel Buds are available in three colours which corresponds to the colour options of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, which are Just Black, Clearly White and Kinda Blue. The Pixel Buds will retail for $219 CAD.
The black Pixel Buds ship by December 18th while both the blue and white Pixel Buds are shipping in 3-5 weeks.
