Microsoft and PUBG Corp. have announced that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be releasing on Xbox One via the Xbox Game Preview program on December 12th, 2017.
Since the game is launching in the Xbox Game Preview program, that means it’s still in early access and it’s not the complete game. CEO of PUBG Corp., Chang Han Kim said that for development of the Xbox One version, they’re taking the same community-driven focus that they’ve taken with the game on PC.
Kim says both the Xbox One and PC version of the game are being developed at the same time but have separate roadmaps. Some features and functionality in the Xbox One version will change and come online over time, just like in the PC version.
Also in late December, will be the 1.0 launch of the PC version of the game. When the game launches in December, there will be three, special, limited-edition cosmetic packs: the PUBG Warrior Pack, the PUBG Accessory Pack and the PUBG Tracksuit Pack. These packs will be exclusive to Xbox fans as standalone offers for a limited time, also Kim says there are no plans to feature any in-game purchases in the Xbox Game Preview version.
