Mobvoi’s TicHome Mini now available for pre-order

Mobvoi, the company behind the upcoming TicWatch S & E, has been working on a new wireless smart home device with the Google Assistant built-in, called the TicHome Mini. And starting today, you can pre-order it.

The TicHome Mini is a smart speaker that you’ll be able to take wherever you go. You’ll be able to access all the features of the Google Assistant such as getting the latest news and traffic, setting alarms, reminders or simply searching on Google.

The TicHome Mini supports English, German, French and Japanese. The device’s speaker is 3 watts.

It also works with apps and services such as iHeartRadio, IFTTT, Nest and more. The device has an IPX6 rating, meaning it’s splash-proof. On the top of the device, you’ll find 4 RGB LEDs, action key, volume up & down, power key/mic mute and a dual mic array.

The battery is 2,600 mAh and should last up to 6 hours. The device charges over microUSB.

To connect to the TicHome Mini, you can use Mobvoi’s TapConnect technology which allows you to pair your smartphone to the speaker with a simple NFC tap.

There’s also dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz & 5GHz) 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 (Classic, High-Speed and Low-Energy).

The TicHome Mini is available for pre-order now from Mobvoi’s site at $79 USD, it will later retail for $99 USD. It comes in four colours, black, white, teal and pink.
