Plex introduces personalized streaming news to its service

Earlier this year, Plex acquired video news service, Watchup and now they’re putting the acquisition to good use, with the launch of Plex News.

Plex News will offer important and personalized streaming news from around the world from more than 190 providers such as CBS News, Cnet, IGN and more.

Best of all, Plex News is free (but it is ad-supported) and doesn’t require a Plex Pass subscription to use. You won’t even need a Plex Media Server to use the new service, just create a Plex account and download the app on your platform of choice.

Then you’ll be able to customize your news feed and Plex’s AI will learn what you like and will get smarter depending on what you watch.

Plex News is rolling out now for all Plex users and will be available on Android TV, Apple TV (4th Gen and later, i.e ones with tvOS), Roku, Fire TV, Android mobile and iOS. More platforms will be coming later.
