Google and Levi’s Project Jacquard has been in the works for a while and now it will be available for purchase starting this Wednesday for $350 USD.

Levi’s Commuter Trucker Jacket with Jacquard by Google has the comfort and styling of a denim jacket but the added capability to control your phone.

How it works, is that the cuff of the jacket has gesture-sensing Jacquard Threads (which are basically conductive thread). That is used in combination with a plastic snap tag, that you’ll need to remove before washing, and that tag is what actually connects the jacket to your phone using Bluetooth.

From the Jacquard app, you’ll be able to program which gestures on the jacket control what. Like for example, a swipe out could control music playback or even getting directions. You’ll be able to swipe or tap the jacket’s sleeve.

The Levi’s Commuter Trucker Jacket with Jacquard will be available this Wednesday (September 27th) in the following stores:

Then it will be available in select Levi’s stores in the US and on October 2nd. You can find out more about Jacquard on Google’s ATAP group site.
