2017 Android Android Oreo Google Special Anniversaries/Birthdays

Happy 9th Anniversary, Android

Nine years ago today, Android was first released. It was running on the HTC Dream (also known as the T-Mobile G1).

It’s hard to believe that we’re already on the eighth version of Android (8.o Oreo). Android has come along way, not just in look but Android is on more devices than just phones, everything from watches to fridges and everything in-between.

It seems like it was just yesterday that I was getting my first Android smartphone, the Motorola Cliq (I loved that thing), back in 2010. It was in 2012, that I became a Nexus user, with the Galaxy Nexus and in 2014, I switched to the Motorola Nexus 6.

And last year, I switched to using a Google Pixel XL and it’s probably my absolute favourite phone (so far).

Next year will be even more special since it will the tenth anniversary of Android, who knows what surprises Google has in store.
