Back in March, Google’s internal incubator, Area120 released an iOS-only app called Uptime, which aimed to make watching YouTube video more social by letting users react, comment on videos while watching in real-time with friends.

Starting today, the app is available in Canada and Australia.

As mentioned in my announcement post, the Uptime app takes reaction elements of Facebook Live and users will need a Google account to sign into the app. Once you’re signed in, you’ll be able to follow your friends and see what they’re watching.

When you’re watching a video, you’ll see your profile picture and other members of your viewing party in a progress bar that moves around the video.

As of right now, they aren’t any plans to release an Android version of the Uptime app. You can download the app here.
