Netflix has announced that the monthly subscription cost in Canada is increasing.
The basic plan which only offers standard definition quality and only one screen is now $8.99 a month (up from $7.99 a month).
The standard and most popular plan which offers two streams at once and high-definition quality is now $10.99 a month (up from $9.99 a month).
The premium plan which offers fours streams at once and 4K UHD quality is now $13.99 a month (up from $11.99 a month).
The last price increase for Canadian Netflix subscribers was back in 2015. Netflix says this year’s price increase was to help “bolster its content and services.”
“From time to time, Netflix plans and pricing are adjusted as we add more exclusive TV shows and movies, introduce new product features and improve the overall Netflix experience, to help members find something great to watch even faster,” Netflix said in a statement.
