Sundar Pichai joins Alphabet’s board of directors

Alphabet, Google’s parent company, has announced that they have appointed Sundar Pichai to their board of directors, as their 13th member.

Pichai will continue in his current position as Google CEO, which has held for just over two years. Pichai has been at Google since 2004 and has helped develop products that are used by a billion people.

By adding Pichai to Alphabet’s board of directors, it shows how important Google is to Alphabet as a whole.

Here’s what Alphabet CEO, Larry Page had to say about their new addition,

Sundar has been doing a great job as Google’s CEO, driving strong growth, partnerships, and tremendous product innovation. I really enjoy working with him and I’m excited that he is joining the Alphabet board.

Pichai will be joined by, Larry Page, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, Ford CEO Alan Mulally and a few others.
