Google has introduced a new creation tool for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, called Blocks.
The tool helps to make 3D models easier to create. Google has made Blocks simple enough anyone to use, even if you don’t have any previous model creation experience.
It’s supposed to be like building something with the blocks you would play with as a kid. To create an object in Blocks, you’re given some basic shapes, a colour palette and an “intuitive set of tools” which will let users quickly and naturally create almost anything to their heart’s desire.
Here are some of the things you can make using Blocks.
Anything made in Blocks can be exported as an OBJ file to be used in AR or VR apps or you can even share it to the web. You can find other creations at vr.google.com/objects.
Blocks is available now for free on the Oculus Store and Steam. You can find out more about Blocks on Google’s website.
