Amazon has officially unveiled the Echo Show, which is a touchscreen device with Alexa built-in. It can do everything that you love about the original Echo while also being able to show you things.
With the Echo Show, users can watch flash briefings, YouTube videos , see music lyrics, control smart home devices (or view people at your door with Ring video doorbell), look at photos and check the weather and add to items to to-do and shopping lists.
The actual Echo Show device has a 7-inch touchscreen, being powered by a Intel Atom x5-Z8350 processor, support for dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, dual 2-inch speakers and a 5-megapixel camera. The Echo Show can also connect to the Echo Look camera.
Since the Echo Show has a screen and a camera, you’ll be able to make calls to anyone using the device or the Alexa app. Your friends and family will need the Amazon Alexa app on their phone to be able to call them.
