Amazon has introduced a new product in their Echo lineup, it’s called the Echo Look. The device combines a camera with Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant.
To use it, all you have to do is say “Alexa, take a picture” or “Alexa, take a video” and camera will take a selfie hands free. Videos can be seen and recorded in real-time via the companion app. Then once you got your perfect selfie, you can share on Instagram (or your social media platform of choice) or with your friends.
The Echo Look also has a feature called Style Check, which uses machine learning and advice from fashion specialists to compare two different outfits, and give them each a style rating. And since the Echo Look has Alexa built-in, you can use the device like a standard Amazon Echo.
The actual device has an elongated design, a camera, microphone and LED array as well as a built-in depth sensor. And for those worried about their privacy, thankfully there is a microphone and camera off button on the side of the device. The device can also be mounted to the wall.
Right now, the Echo Look is only available by invitation only for $200 USD (which is $20 more than a regular Amazon Echo), and like all other Echo device, it’s only available in the US for now.
