This year’s annual Star Wars Celebration is taking place in Orlando and there has been some exciting announcements over the past few days.

Spoiler Alert: Caution there will be spoilers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens in this post

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

The first official teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel for The Force Awakens, has arrived. We see Rey training on Ahch-To (the planet that she discovered Luke was hiding on) to be a Jedi.

In addition to Rey and Luke’s training sessions, we see a few glimpses of Finn in a  pod (healing from his wounds from last film), Poe Dameron flying around in his fighter, and a couple of big battles: one on the ground with First Order Walkers and one with X-Wings and TIE fighters.

The teaser shows that The Last Jedi will have as much energy and action as the previous film, or even more. You can find out more about Star Wars: The Last Jedi on StarWars.com.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi releases on December 15th 2017.

40th Anniversary of Star Wars

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Star Wars and to close out the 40 Years of Star Wars panel, fans were left with a touching tribute to Carrie Fisher, who passed away in December 2016. You can find out more about the panel on StarWars.com.

Star Wars Battlefront II

The first Star Wars Battlefront was revealed back at Star Wars Celebration 2015 with its first trailer, so it’s fitting that it’s sequel’s first trailer is shown off at this year’s Star Wars Celebration.

The Star Wars Battlefront II trailer focuses on the single-player campaign, which was noticeably absent from the first game. You play as an elite TIE Fighter pilot who seeks vengeance against the Rebellion after the second Death Star is blown up. This is a much darker approach than in previous Star Wars games with the Empire being seen in a heroic role.

Also, Rey, Kylo Ren and Darth Maul will be playable in the multiplayer portion of the game and there will be a bigger emphasis on space battles, which was lacking the 2015 installment. The new game will also feature local split-screen co-op and will not have a season pass. You can find out more about Star Wars Battlefront II on EA’s website.

Star Wars Battlefront II will release on November 17th 2017 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Dave Filoni, the creator of the show has announced that the show would be coming to an end after four seasons. Filoni also said ,”Seeing the evolution of this family, [and] these kids, and watching them get older, as a creator of a story I think of these things. I think about where we are going, and what the characters need to go through,” he said. “This is where I have to tell you that Season 4 is the final season of Star Wars Rebels.”

He also said that he wanted the show to end on a high note by getting it where it need to go.
