The G6, LG’s flagship phone for this year, is launching in Canada on April 7th, and its available to pre-order starting today.
LG says that the G6 will be coming to the following carriers; Bell, Eastlink, Fido, Freedom Mobile, Koodo, Rogers, SaskTel, Telus, Videotron and Virgin Mobile.
It will also be available for pre-order at the following retailers; Best Buy Mobile, Tbooth wireless, Wirelesswave, Wireless Etc. (which is the name of Costco’s mobile section) and Wow! Mobile Boutique.
Shelly Walia, LG Canada’s Brand Manager of Mobile Communications said this, “The LG G6 answers the call of consumers with the features that are most important to them, like an amazing camera packed with innovative new features and a large display, all wrapped up in a sleek and sexy design.”
The LG G6 features a 5.7-inch QHD+ FullVision Display with a resolution of 2880 x 1440 to give it a 564ppi and the phone has a 18:9 aspect ratio with support for HDR10 and DolbyVision. Inside, there’s a Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage with microSD (for up to 2TB). There is a USB Type-C port and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and its in a sleek body that is also IP68 water and dust resistant.
On the back, there are dual 13-megapixel cameras with one being a standard lens and one being a wide-angle lens. The front-facing camera is a 5-megapixel camera with a wide-angle lens. There is also a 3,300 mAh battery and is running Android 7.0 Nougat with LG’s skin on top.
LG didn’t announce any pricing for the G6 but expect it to be in-line with other flagship smartphone pricing in Canada (i.e around $399-499 CAD on-contract and about $900 CAD or more off-contract). It will also be available in two colours: Ice Platinum and Astro Black.
