Fitbit has unveiled a slightly updated version of their Alta fitness tracker, which launched last March.
The new, Alta HR has continuous heart rate tracking which was lacking from the original model. You’ll also get improved battery life (Fitbit says up to 7 days).
There will also be new band colours for the Alta HR. In addition to the black, blue, gray, fuchsia, and coral colour options, you’ll be able to get the Alta HR in soft pink with a 22k rose-gold-plated tracker and a black with matte gun-metal tracker which Fitbit is dubbing as special edition.
Fitbit says that there is also a luxe leather collection that comes in brown, indigo and lavender bands with matching buckles, a luxe stainless steel bracelet and bands from such designer brands as Simply Vera Vera Wang, PUBLIC SCHOOL and Tory Burch at later date.
The Fitbit Alta HR will go on sale in early April around the world for $199 CAD ($149 USD). The standard bands for the Alta HR will be available separately for $40 CAD ($30 USD), leather bands for $80 CAD ($60 USD) and metal bracelets for $140 CAD ($100 USD).
Update – March 10th 2017: The Black and Blue/Grey colour options of the Alta HR will be launching on March 28th at Best Buy while the Pink, Fuchsia, Gunmetal and Coral on April 15th.
