After numerous leaks, the LG G6 is officially revealed at MWC 2017. For the G6, LG says they listened to consumer feedback and user opinions, especially since the G5 wasn’t that well received.
The G6 has a 5.7-inch QHD+ display with a 18:9 aspect ratio (which LG calls FullVision) and a resolution of 2880 x 1440 and 564 ppi. The new aspect ratio makes the G6 more slimmer than the G5 and the display itself, much taller, so it produces less bezels.
Inside, the G6 is being powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with 4GB of RAM. It will come with either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage plus a microSD cards slot for up 2TB.
There’s also a 3,300 mAh battery, USB Type-C port with Quick Charge 3.0 support, IP68 water and dust resistance and a fingerprint sensor on the back.
In terms of cameras, the G6 has dual 13-megapixel rear-facing cameras (one is a 125 degree wide angle & f/2.4 aperture and the other is standard camera with a f/1.8 aperture). The front-facing camera is 5-megapixels. There is also a single bottom-firing speaker.
On the software side, the G6 will be running Android 7.0 Nougat with LG’s skin. The G6 will also come with the Google Assistant, which first came with the Pixel phones. You’ll also be able to use the Google Assistant when the display is off.
The G6 will be available in three colours (the latter of which will be coming to Canada): Mystic White, Ice Platinum and Astro Black.
The LG G6 will be coming to Canada but no pricing or release date was announced.
