Snap Inc., Snapchat’s parent company, is now selling their video-recording sunglasses called Spectacles on their website for $129.99 USD.
Previously, if you wanted a pair of Spectacles, you would need to go to one of their vending machines that in surprise locations or their pop-up store in New York City.
Their NYC store is now closed and Snap has told TechCrunch that their Snapbot vending machines will continue to roam the US after “a brief nap.”
If you purchase a pair of Spectacles from their site, you can purchase up to 6 pair per household but you’ll have to wait 2-4 weeks for them to arrive. You’ll also be able to purchase their charging case for $49.99 USD or charging cords for $9.99 USD. As of right now, the Spectacles only ship to those in the US but hopefully that changes soon.

The Spectacles can record 10-30 seconds of video which can be instantly uploaded to Snapchat via your iPhone or Android phone.
It’s no surprise that the Snap Spectacles have had a positive response, and selling them outright to consumers just before the company’s IPO is a smart move.
