Take your binge offline with Netflix’s new download feature

Netflix has announced that members of their service can now download content from Netflix’s library for offline viewing at no additional cost.

Eddy Wu, Director of Product Innovation at Netflix had this to say, “While many members enjoy watching Netflix at home, we’ve often heard they also want to continue their Stranger Things binge while on airplanes and other places where Internet is expensive or limited. Just click the download button on the details page for a film or TV series and you can watch it later without an internet connection.”

Some of Netflix’s original titles such as The Crown, Narcos and BoJack Horseman are now available to watch offline. There are also quite a few TV shows and movies that aren’t Netflix originals that are available to download such as Community and The Social Network However, titles such as Netflix’s Daredevil are not yet available to watch offline but will be soon.

The new feature is available to all Netflix users (no matter which price tier) and it works on Android and iOS devices (with a new update). Once you update, you’ll see a new Available for Download section in the side menu, and then all you have to do is tap on the title you’d like to download and it will start downloading immediately.
