EA Play 2016: Everything you need to know

EA decided to change things up this year. Instead of having a press conference at E3, they opted to host their event called EA Play. It’s happening at the same time as E3 2016 but fans of EA games are invited to.

EA is hosting their event both in Los Angeles and in London, England, and their press conference at both locales, with EA CCO (Chief Competition Officer) Peter Moore hosting the London event and EA CEO Andrew Wilson hosting the LA event.

EA didn’t announce a whole lot at their press conference, from info on Titanfall 2 to a new trailer for Battlefield 1.

Titanfall 2

EA officially announce the sequel to 2014’s Titanfall. The new game will build on the first Titanfall’s fast, fluid and fun gameplay. This time around, there will be a new single player campaign which was noticeably absent from the first game.

Respawn Entertainment says that the new campaign will be playable offline and will let fans step out onto The Frontier as a Militia rifleman with the aspirations of being an elite Pilot.

“With the original Titanfall, we focused on nailing the gameplay and reinventing the way you move and fight in a first person shooter,” said Vince Zampella, CEO of Respawn Entertainment and a Co-Creator of the Call of Duty franchise. “With Titanfall 2, we’re building on that foundation by introducing a bespoke single player campaign backed by a deeper multiplayer experience that together will once again push the shooter genre forward.”

Titanfall 2 will be available worldwide on October 28th 2016 for Xbox One, PC and PS4.

Madden NFL 17

EA has released details on the upcoming release of Madden NFL 17. It will still offer a streamlined experience and making playing both on-field and off-field a more seamless and fun experience.

Also included in Madden NFL 17 is a new commentary team of Brandon Gaudin and Charles Davis and a new mode called Play the Moments. In this mode, players will be able to experience the most important milestone in each game while the rest of the game is simulated.

EA says,

Players will be invited to jump in at critical moments such as red zone drives, vital third downs, game-winning drives and more, offering the chance to prove your mettle in clutch situations. The shortened games allow Franchise players to take their team all the way from opening day to the Super Bowl in just a weekend, maximizing the fun along the way. Of course, those who want to experience the game from kickoff to final whistle can turn off Play the Moments, or opt to jump in and out of moments as they wish throughout the game.

EA is also making Madden NFL an esport and there will be championships that will last all-year long and there’s more than $1 million in prize money.

Madden NFL 17 will available on August 23rd 2016 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PC.

Mass Effect: Andromeda

EA and BioWare didn’t give a whole lot of new details on the new Mass Effect game. They said more details will come this fall.
