The infamous Oculus Rift is now available for pre-order directly from Oculus’ site for the not-so low price of $599 USD.

Even though the high price tag wasn’t revealed earlier, Oculus founder, Palmer Luckey did say a few weeks ago that the Oculus Rift would come at a premium but he did also say that VR will eventually become something that is affordable for everyone.
Here’s to hoping he’s right.
Don’t forget to make sure you have a capable PC before you pre-order the Rift.
Here are the recommended specs:
- graphics card: NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD R9 290 equivalent or greater
- processor: Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater
- memory: 8GB+ RAM
- output: Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output
- input: 3x USB 3.0 ports plus 1x USB 2.0 port
- operating system: Windows 7 SP1 64 bit or newer
The Oculus Rift will start shipping to 20 countries on March 28th 2016 and the Rift will be available in limited locations at select retailers in April.
