HTC MWC 2015 Announcements: Everything you need to know

HTC made a few announcements at their event at Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, Spain.

HTC One M9

The first and the biggest being the HTC One M9, which is HTC’s 2015 flagship.


It has a 5-inch full HD 1080p display. Powering that is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 with 3GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot that can hold up to 128GB. The battery size is 2840 mAh.

The main camera is now a 20 megapixel sensor with the capability of recording up to 4K video. The front-facing camera is now a HTC UltraPixel camera and can shoot up to 1080p.

The One M9 will be running Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with Sense 7.

Sense 7 has support for themes so you can make it look however you want. Also HTC Blinkfeed is still intact in Sense 7.

The HTC One M9 will be available in variety of colour when it launches. The colours are Gunmetal Gray, Amber Gold, Silver/Rose gold, Gold/Pink.

The HTC One M9 will be available in mid-March.

HTC Grip

The HTC Grip is the first wearable from HTC. It also marks the start of their partnership with Under Armour.


Essentially it is a nicely designed fitness tracker that can be used by both Android and iOS users. It also works with Under Armour’s UA Record App.

The display is a black-and-white display and also a touchscreen. You will be able to control your music, see notifications and other glanceable stuff.

The HTC Grip will be compatible with Android devices running 4.3 or later and iOS devices running iOS 7 and later.

The HTC Grip will be available sometime this spring for $199.

HTC Vive

HTC is teaming up with Valve to create the HTC Vive. The Vive is a virtual reality headset and not much was said about what the specs of the Vive are.


The HTC Vive is schedule to arrive sometime before the end of 2015.
