Here are just some of the apps and games that I used most often in 2014. Some are available for just one platform (just Android or just iOS) while some apps are on both or have a web app as well.
Action Launcher
Action Launcher is designed to replace the look of your Android device’s home screen. It offers a clean design and quick access to all of your apps and widgets.
Fenix for Twitter
Fenix is a great alternative to the standard Twitter app. It offers both a clean design and light/dark mode options.
Reddit Sync
Reddit Sync is a great reddit app for Android. It is the most fully featured and offers the best value for the money.
ES File Explorer
If you are looking for a great file manager app for your Android device, then look no further than ES File Explorer. It has no ads, in-app purchases, none, zip, you get a lot of features in this free app.
Google Play Music
Google has made their own music app even better by adding some material design cues. With Google Play Music on the web app, you can upload up to 20,000 songs from your own music collection. Google was previously only on Android but now they have brought the app to iOS.

Pocket Casts
If you are one of those people who love listening to podcasts, here a awesome app for you. Pocket Casts has a clean design and lots of features including Chromecast support. It is available on Android and iOS, you can even start a podcast on one device and continue listening on another by utilizing the app’s sync feature.
Pushbullet
Have you ever wanted to send something to yourself from your computer to your smartphone and vice-versa. Pushbullet makes that much easier. You can send notes, website links and files. Another thing to mention that if you are an Android user, you can get all the notifications from your Android device on your computer.

Sight
Sight is an app that will allow you to save articles, so then you can read them later or while your device is online. Sight will analyize the screenshot you took and search for that article (as best it can) and then add it to your list of saved article. Currently the app is only available on iOS however there is a Sight web app.
Ask Me Anything – reddit AMA
If you are a Reddit user, then you probably heard of the infamous AMAs (ask me anything posts). Reddit AMAs can be done by any Reddit user and every week there are celebrities that are doing an reddit AMA, where people can ask then anything (there is the chance that your question may not be asked). The new Ask Me Anything app makes it easier for fans of reddit AMAs to contribute easier and faster.
Alien Blue
Alien Blue is a awesome reddit client for iOS. Just recently reddit made Alien Blue, the official reddit app (since there wasn’t one before). It offers a lot of great features.
